The SACRAF Universe: The Trial of the RedShield Warrior
The End of the Red Wolves' Reign
The towering remains of the ancient Blackwood trees no longer serve as lairs for the dreadful Red Wolves. Their era of dominance has ended, for the trainees are prepared. They stand in silent formation, waiting, their eyes fixed upon the Colossal Stump, where the Devil Tower looms ominously before them.
The RedShield: The Greatest Warrior
Among all warriors, the greatest is the RedShield—a warrior of unmatched skill, both in solitary combat and in battle alongside others. The RedShield is fearless, having conquered the depths of terror itself. They are masters of war tactics, versed in the knowledge of weapons, artillery, and engines of war. Their spirit is forged in discipline, their courage unwavering. A true RedShield does not flinch at war; instead, they embody it.
The Lost Blackwoods and the Rise of the Devil Towers
Once, the Blackwoods stood tall across the untamed landscapes of Mars, their sky-piercing trunks forming an endless forest of black-stone trees. But time and conflict led to their downfall. The trees were cut down, their roots left to rot, leaving behind massive stumps that resemble ancient buttes. These remnants of the past were twisted in purpose, transformed into what people now call the Devil Towers—landmarks of trials, pain, and transformation.
The Ritual of the RedShield
Every RedShield undergoes a trial of life and death before earning their title. As a Red, they once had a companion—a wolf pup, raised with care, trained in loyalty. But the bond is tested in the most brutal way imaginable.
When the Dire Wolf reaches its final stage of life, the ritual begins. Atop a gigantic Devil Tower, the wolf consumes a blood tuber, an ancient catalyst of transformation. The tuber ignites a terrible metamorphosis—the loyal companion becomes a Wolf Devil, a creature of untamed rage and corrupted essence.
To complete the trial, the warrior must slay the beast. This is not an act of cruelty, but of profound understanding. The spirit of their companion is no longer there—what stands before them is something else entirely. To master war, one must first master the conflict within. The RedShield must know the difference between what was and what is, between the past bond and the present duty.
Through this final battle, the warrior ascends. Through pain, they gain clarity. Through loss, they gain strength. And through mastery, they earn the mark of SHIELD.
